Miracle on Waterside Drive Community Trees

Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia

Make more wishes possible for inspiring kids!

Why Wishes Matter:

When a family in your community hears the devastating news that their child has been diagnosed with a critical illness, life changes forever. Hospital stays, doctor’s visits and treatments become their new normal. Make-A-Wish invites wish kids into a world of possibilities — where the exciting anticipation of a wish-come-true helps them believe in better days ahead. A wish replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. Now more than ever, this hope is essential.

Paint Pink

Their Mission:

to support local cancer patients with financial assistance for goods and services (such as payment of bills, legal fees, personal care items, house cleaning, meal delivery and more) that are not covered by insurance, thus enabling patients to focus on their battle with this disease.  Since every case is different, the uniqueness of each situation drives the amount of support provided.

Their Vision:

Paint Pink's vision is to lighten the load for our cancer-fighting warriors so their focus can be on their health.

Cancer is a diagnosis that no one wants to hear.  Many of us have lost family members and dear friends to this hideous disease. Every 14 seconds, somewhere in the world, a case of breast cancer is diagnosed — a sobering statistic. Pink is a non-profit founded in June 2023 through the efforts of the late Kim Keene, a breast cancer warrior, and her supporters. As a cancer fighter, Kim was deeply aware that many patients’ needs are not covered by insurance, inspiring her legacy of support for others battling the disease.

The Mission of the Apricity Hope Project is to provide mental, physical and emotional health support to primary caregivers of medically complex children with life-limiting conditions.

Their Vision:

The AHP's vision is a world where caregivers (consequently entire families) experience restorative, soul-healing support, while being empowered, encouraged, and uplifted by the community – both the medical community and outside of the medical community.
