The Cordish Companies is excited to kick off hiring initiatives for Waterside District this week in Norfolk, VA. Team members from The Cordish Companies and Waterside District welcomed over a thousand people yesterday at a hiring open house in downtown Norfolk. Slated to open Spring 2017, Waterside District will create 1,000 new jobs for the City of Norfolk and the Hampton Roads region.
Waterside District will be a dynamic, mixed-use development that will feature best-in-class local, regional and national dining and a variety of entertainment, events and festivals. A comprehensive $40 million overhaul and rebranding of Norfolk’s iconic Waterside Festival Marketplace, Waterside District will become a central gathering spot for local residents and visitors.

An eclectic group of premier local and national brands have previously been announced for Waterside District including Blue Moon TapHouse, Guy Fieri’s Smokehouse, The Fudgery, as well as Cogan’s Pizza, Carolina Cupcakery, and Starr Hill which will be part of The Market, a 30,000 square foot, two level anchor concept located in the heart of the project. Designed by internationally-acclaimed Jeffrey Beers International, The Market will feature a variety of unique food and beverage concepts, as well as be home for entertainment, festivals and family attractions.
Cordish developments nationwide employ thousands of people and continue to grow in current and new markets across the country.
